A beautiful soul loved by God
Meet Pretty - a little girl who lived a garbage village in North Africa, suffering of Down Syndrome. She was extremely malnourished and born a little over a year ago. “When I think about her I see her blonde hair, bright eyes, beautiful face, and her sweet and quirky personality. When I would kissed her on the cheek she would scrunch up her face in a smile. If I would try to give her another spoonful of food before she was quite ready, she would swing up her slender arm and smack the spoon away. She quickly taught me to wait and just enjoy being with her as she smacked her gums and savoured her food. I loved caring for her and enjoying her spirit.” - Says Anna, an american follower of Jesus, working among the garbage collectors in North Africa.
Yesterday Pretty passed away “I've been going through waves of grief about losing her. I haven't seen her in a few weeks because she's been home sick. The nuns gave her family money to take her to the hospital but it seems that they didn't take her. I'm not sure if the sickness took her, or if it was the fact that she's been malnourished for the entirety of her short life. I've been praying for her. Her parent's must have a strange mix of emotions. They seemed to have some affection for her, but from all we can see Pretty died of neglect.
Please pray for this family, that they would truly come to know Jesus in all that He is and that He would change their hearts. Please pray also for her brothers and sisters. They are old enough to love and take care of Pretty and must be very hurt and confused.’ - said Anna.
Please pray also for the other babies in our care. We do all we can to feed them and car for them but we cannot take custody of children and child services here are not what they are in the West. What happens in the babies' homes is beyond our control. We still have two babies that are undernourished and at risk.
"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ." 2 Corinthians 1:3-5
