Sports help transform youth and children at risk
Hope for MENA in partnership with Tawseela has launched a new program that helps build capacity and transform lives among the youth and children at risk in North Africa.
The highlight of the program consists of two football teams, each one aimed at different ages, but both competing in local leagues with international schools in North Africa.
"This allows us to reach out to local youth and children at risk who are extremely underprivileged and who otherwise would have no access to the kind of resources we can provide. All training programmes are held to a high professional standard, with all our coaches holding FIFA credentials. Throughout the programme we also include 40 life coaching lessons, that are taught using innovative drills and exercises.
Within these lessons we cover many important values, such as: citizenship, respect, responsibility, care, love, dedication, teamwork and others. This is so we can equip the children and youth with all the tools they need so they can develop not just in sport but also in the wider world; focusing on all areas including physical, technical, emotional and psychological," says Antonio, the general manager of the Tawseela Centre.
The total cost of maintenance of this program is $1600 USD monthly. This investment covers the rent of the football field (two times a week), transportation for friendly matches and material used for training (uniforms, boots, balls, etc). This also covers the expenses of all workers involved (three coaches and six helpers), to reach 120 different children monthly.
Your direct involvement by volunteering or any contribution to Tawseela will empower us to change lives and restore hope among the youth and children at risk in North Africa.
