A 180 Degree Turn

By Beatrice E

Today I was grumpy and not looking forward to volunteering at the Center. I was tired, I just wanted to zone out in my room, eat chips, and ignore the word for the day. But I signed up to be here, so off I went. When I entered, the kids all greeted me in Arabic and English. They were in the middle of Arabic class - learning the sounds of the letters. The teacher asked ME to make the sound of the letter, too. I don't know why, but when I answered him, my mood immediately turned 180 degrees. Suddenly I was happy to be here, enjoying the afternoon with the kids, and even “put myself out there” to do things I wasn't even sure how to do. And God brought me joy.

Thank God for using the Center of Hope to bring ME hope today. (And I thought it was just for the kids!)
