Elevating the name of Jesus in North Africa
By Stonecreek/Elevate City Ministry Team
Where were you 3 months ago?
For most of us, it was the start of the holiday season. A time for family, a time for celebration, a time for rest. For Mary, she was about to enter the hardest season in her life!
Three months ago, Mary, the mother of 4 beautiful children, was about to give birth to her 5th child. One month after her new baby was born, her husband was killed in the war in Sudan, which has been going on for 20 years!
Escaping the war to rescue her children, she fled to another country… spending about a week on a bus with her 5 children, and whatever they could carry.
Three months. A birth. A death. An escape.
Although Mary has rescued her children and started a new life…they still have a lot to overcome. We have the opportunity to elevate the Name of Jesus and change this incredibly strong family’s life… not 3 months from now, but in 3 days.
Although Mary has rescued her children and started a new life…they still have a lot to overcome.
In their new place, they have no running water to bathe in, no beds to sleep in, no toys to play with, no books to read or learn from, and no stove to cook meals on. Mary has such a strong spirit and believes in the Lord and His mighty hand, but there is more to come.
During our home visit, we prayed and shared the Gospel, encouraging them with the Word of God.
Mary’s children like their mother have a strong spirit and hope.
Lillian, the oldest is 11 and wants to become a doctor. Anas, who is 9 wants to be a pilot. Sonia, who is 7 wants to be a teacher. Eny who is 5, wants to be an engineer. And the 2-month old babe, Agnes, her story has just begun.
Over the next three days
We are believing that God, through you, will elevate the name of Jesus and provide this family with food, beds, furniture, school costs, house rent, electricity, running water and other necessities to make this house a home.
Visit our shop to donate or buy a gift of hope for Mary and her family, and our team will personally deliver these gifts on your behalf, by restoring hope, and letting them know they are seen, valued, and loved.
