We are SO Thankful to YOU

Written by Caitlin Frede, Australia

We would like to extend a warm message of thanks to everyone who supported Susan and her family. We would not have been able to bless them without support from the international family of Christ.

1 Samuel 30:24 says “the share of the man who stayed with the supplies is to be the same as he who went into battle, all will share alike”. Indeed we all share in this joy of blessing Susan’s family.

Tears of joy

As many of you know, last week our team met single-mother Susan and her six children. After fleeing Sudan, Susan and her family struggle to survive amidst the new hardships of racism, sickness and abandonment.

How it all began

Last Saturday our team set up an online shop to provide for the material, educational and medical needs for the family. We nervously set our project live and called upon the family of Christ from all over the world to pray and bless this refugee family.

The family of Christ showed up!

We heard stories of how these people were touched and felt God’s hand calling them to donate.

Over the next few days, more and more things were bought. Gradually, the electricity, shower, toilet and beds were installed. Our team was able to assist by painting the walls, with many of the kids joining in and having fun.

A special message of thanks

Susan and her family have a special message of thanks to extend to you. The 18 year old son said “For the first time, there is joy in this house”. Susan prayed for us and blessed us, saying “may God bless you and your families. If I do not see you again here, I know we will meet again in Heaven”

There is still work to do

Whilst it is fantastic to bless this family with a new house, we would like to help this family long-term. The family does not have enough resources to keep sending the children to school after December. By the grace of God, one of the five children is already sponsored.

We would love to see God work miracles and have the four other children be sent to school. Is He prompting you to become a sponsor?

The Shop for Hope will remain open throughout the month of December. Please check out the remaining items and donate as you feel God is leading you.

Thank you once again for your kind generosity!

We pray God will continue to bless you abundantly so you can be a blessing to others. James 1:27 “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world”.
