The Hope for MENA team returned to the Sudanese refugee centre on Christmas Eve (24 December 2016) to bless the young people with gifts during the festive season.
The group handed out almost 100 packages - filled with colouring pencils, notepads, toys, games and sweets - to boys and girls following a special service.
From games - such as Simon says and musical statues - to songs - including Father Abraham and Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes - the team also brought the nativity story to life (this time with red noses and balloons), proving that comedy really does transcend all language barriers.
Reminding the young people that we give gifts at Christmas because of the presents the three wise men shared with Jesus, was a great reason for the team to bless the children - ensuring they had plenty of things to play with the following day.
Expecting just 60 children, at the start of the service the team counted 75 and by the end there was almost 100. Despite bringing spare gifts the team were ever-so-slightly under resourced, but God multiplied the goods ensuring no one went home empty handed. Hallelujah!
